Payouts and chops for home poker

Live poker payouts, from rebuy to chop.

Every rebuy and add-on goes into the pot, and the payouts update on the spot: the house fee comes off first, the places paid follow the size of the field and the split is the one your group picked. At the final table, whoever is still in strikes a deal, and the app checks the total.

House fee

The house fee comes off before the split

The house takes its share first, and the rest becomes the prize pool. The fee goes from 0 to 25% of the pot in steps of 5, always rounded down to a whole real.

PotR$775
House fee 10%R$77
Prize poolR$698

10% of R$775 is R$77.50. The house keeps R$77, and the remaining R$0.50 stays in the prize pool.

Pirapoker comes with six prize structures, all on the balanced split:

  • Sem Taxa da Casa Default
  • Taxa da Casa 5%
  • Taxa da Casa 10%
  • Taxa da Casa 15%
  • Taxa da Casa 20%
  • Taxa da Casa 25%

Places paid

A payout table that grows with the field

How many places pay depends on how many players entered. The ninth player sits down? The third prize opens on the spot, and the bubble moves from 3rd to 4th.

Places paid by number of players
  1. 2 to 4 players: 1 place paid
  2. 5 to 8 players: 2 places paid
  3. 9 to 15 players: 3 places paid
  4. 16 to 20 players: 4 places paid
  5. 21 to 30 players: 5 places paid
  6. 31 players and up: 17% of the field

The bubble, ITM and rounding are in the guide to poker tournament payouts.

Three splits

Balanced, winner-favored or conservative

Every prize structure uses one of the three splits. Each place’s share comes from it, in whole percents, and they always add up to 100%.

Final table deal

Poker chop: the table agrees, the app checks

Only a few left and nobody wants to gamble? In Make a Deal, every place still in play gets a field with its current prize. You type what you agreed, and the app shows how much is still available.

  • Everyone still in takes part, even whoever would be on the bubble
  • Over the amount available? Confirm stays locked
  • The house fee and the prizes of players already out stay out of it
  • After the deal, a new entry leaves the amounts alone
  • Undo Deal brings back the automatic split, from the pot as it is now

After the deal the table plays down to one, and the places count for the season ranking. The app does not calculate ICM: the deal is whatever the table agrees.

From the pot to settling up

Where the prizes show up

  • On the blind timer

While late registration is open, the blind timer shows the pot. After that, the prize for each place.

  • On the TV, if you want

Prizes only reach the TV with Show prizes on the TV switched on. Names, never.

  • With every entry

A rebuy, an add-on or a late arrival: the rebuy tracker adds it to the pot, and the split follows.

  • Straight to settling up

At the end, each prize goes into that player’s balance: to receive, to pay or settled.

  • No internet needed

The maths runs on the phone. The wifi drops, and the prizes stay right.

Questions about payouts and chops

The step by step, with a calculator, is in the guide to poker tournament payouts.

How many places should a poker tournament pay?

It depends on how many players entered: 2 to 4 pay one place, 5 to 8 pay two, 9 to 15 three, 16 to 20 four, 21 to 30 five and, from 31 up, 17% of the field.

Is the house fee part of the deal?

No. A deal only splits the prize money of the players still in. The house fee and the prizes of players who already finished in the money stay as they are.

Does Pirapoker calculate ICM?

No. The deal is whatever the table agrees. The app fills in the current prizes, checks the total and never lets it go over what is available.

What if more money comes in after the deal?

The agreed amounts stay locked. To redo the maths, tap Undo Deal: the prizes go back to being worked out from the current pot.
